Monkey World

Guess where I was a week ago today?

Monkey World is an ape rescue centre that has taken in primates from across the world over for over 20 years.

I've been there before, but seeing these animals up close never gets old. Chimpanzees are my favourite, but there are also orangutans, gibbons, macaques, and hundreds of monkeys. The place exists for these animals rather than for us, and they always seem very content in their home.

'So what do monkeys have to do with cartoons?' I hear you cry. Well, not a lot, really. I just like 'em.

But I would like to animate this li'l guy...

Donald Duck and the Aqua-Bastards

I'm back with more stuff for y'all to enjoy / laugh at / be confused by!

The proportions on this one are good except for one major slip-up: the whole dang thing is about 20% too high. Looks like I should be more careful in the early stages.

John K Stuff

'Big House Blues' is one of my favourite episodes of Ren & Stimpy. It was the pilot episode, and it looks like John K and his gang were free to do what they do best: make funny cartoons!

There are so many great drawings in this short, so I've copied a few in an effort to see what makes them work. These studies are full of wrong, but I guess that's how you learn?

In my day this guy was cool - Now he's all broken 3D and badly-drawn anime and furry porn... but he's still cooler than Mario!
